AEFAA hosts two signature events each year — a spring conference and trade show, and a fall workshop and trade show. Join your colleagues from across Alberta for professional development, networking, and industry exhibits.

Tradeshow — Sunday, October 19 (evening)
Kick off the conference with our Tradeshow evening, where sponsors and vendors showcase the latest products and services for educational facilities management. A great chance to connect with industry partners, ask questions, and see what's new — refreshments provided.
Professional Development Day — Monday, October 20
A full day of sessions focused on practical skills and knowledge for facilities administrators, covering topics relevant to the challenges you face day to day. Open to all conference attendees.
Alberta Education Session — Tuesday, October 21
A dedicated session featuring updates and guidance from Alberta Education, covering policy changes and priorities affecting educational facilities across the province.

Contracts are a key part of municipal operations, influencing relationships with contractors, suppliers, consultants, service providers, and community partners. Understanding the fundamentals of contract law can help professionals reduce risk, manage obligations effectively, and make informed decisions throughout the life of an agreement.
This practical one-day workshop provides participants with an introduction to the principles of contract law and their application in a municipal environment. Through real-world examples, discussion, and case studies, participants will gain a better understanding of how contracts are formed, interpreted, and managed, while developing the confidence to identify risks and respond appropriately when issues arise.
The workshop is based on the contract law components of SAIT’s Business Law curriculum and has been tailored to address common challenges encountered in local government and public-sector settings.
